Namaste Nepal Belgium had allocated funds for four different project. As always we decided to support basically in the field of education, a dog care center being an exception this time. Here is a brief detail of our projects in 2025 A.D.
Project 1: Chepang – Construction of a Community Center in Jimling:
The Chepang community possesses a rich cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and deep-rooted ecological wisdom. The community center provides a platform for those without formal education, including young people, illiterates, and adults with low literacy. It offers opportunities for social interaction and for organizing cultural events, such as the promotion of traditional customs and mothers’ group meetings. Furthermore, the secondary objective of this project is to provide platform for interested researchers and college students for field visit to learn more about chepang community. After the completion of construction, we will handover it to a non-profit organisation called “Institute for Indigenous Affairs and Development” (IIAD) lead by Biswash Chepang for its smooth running in upcoming days.
For this project we have collaborated with Mr. Bishwash Chepang, a member of this chepang community. He has overcome many hurdles in his life to become a role model for this indigenous group. Now, he is a well-recognized figure in the forum of indigenous peoples and, most importantly, advocates for the rights of his community. Namaste Nepal Belgium proudly joins hand with him for the construction of a community learning center at his village, Korak-Jimling in Chitwan. Namaste Nepal Belgium sees this as a long term project which can act as a milestone in the field of education in near future for that region.

Project 2: Helping Hands Nepal
‘Helping Hands Nepal’ promotes the well-being of vulnerable populations through initiatives focused on health, education and disaster risk reduction. The goal is to create a just society by responding to the needs of vulnerable communities and enabling them to live healthier, more resilient, and more sustainable lives.
According to founding member of Helping Hands, Ganesh Pradhan, on our meeting with him in Kathmandu said that an initial portion of our support will go to a village school, “Shree Kyangsing Basic School,” in Jugal, Sindhupalchok. The children here lack proper clothing and essential school supplies. We will gradually provide them with these supplies.

Project 3: The Samaanta Foundation
The Samaanta Foundation promotes equality and empowerment by providing high-quality higher education to socioeconomically disadvantaged students. The foundation provides scholarships to deserving, disadvantaged, and rural students to cover their college fee and related expenses. It also offers academic and career support, including job search assistance and access to mental health services.
This time too we helped Samaanta Foundation through Dipak kumar Kurmi, a beneficiary and an active member of this foundation, to achieve their goal of supporting 25 students from marginalized communities for higher studies in their upcoming intake.

Project 4: Shree’s Animal Rescue Nepal

Srjana Thakuri is the founder of Shree’s Animal Rescue Nepal, a dog shelter she started in her home in Baneshwor. What began with a few dogs has grown so large that she had to relocate to Gokarna-Kathmandu, where she cares for over 400 dogs with full compassion.
Most of the dogs in her shelter are abused, abandoned, or suffering from illness. She cares for dogs involved in hit-and-run accidents. Every wagging tail and every tender paw has a painful story inside them and are at least having a better life than before at this center.
On our meeting with Srijana, She poured all her emotions for those abandoned beautiful souls and showed strong determination to take care of them until her lifetime. She appreciated the small effort from Namaste Nepal Belgium with these beautiful words:-
“THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US AND GIVING OUR ANIMALS THE GIFT OF LIFE AND LOVE.”
