Due to the corona pandemic, we have not been able to personally carry out our planned aid actions 2020/2021 in Nepal, but that does not mean that we have not done anything, on the contrary.
But first a heartfelt “thank you” to our project leader Sudip Dhamala (and friends Bamshaj, Suraj and Temba), who has coordinated all our aid actions excellently and brought them to a successful end.
We supported “VOLUNTEER SOCIETY NEPAL” just like in 2018. This centre mainly works with foreign volunteers. They are not there because of the pandemic, but the disabled are there. Our financial support is used for the purchase of food, clothing and partly for the rent of the buildings.
We have also installed an internet connection (broadband connection) in the home “POSSIBLE NEPAL” in Northeast Kathmandu – a warm home for orphans, semi-orphans and children who have been withdrawn from the forced labour circuit. Now those children can enjoy distance learning. We also bought school uniforms and sports uniforms for them and paid the registration costs for their school.
“SHREE NEPAL RASTRIYA SECONDARY SCHOOL” (Parsa district, bordering India). It’s a public school. 1200 children are studying there. These students come from diverse backgrounds in Nepal. Thanks to the contribution of “Namaste Nepal”, the students now have access to an extensive school library, a large number of sports and hygienic materials, which will contribute to “a healthy mind in a healthy body”(cf. Project Dolpo).
