Western Nepal is the bedrock as well as the bearer of the social, cultural, historical, religious and touristic glory and heritage of Nepal. There are the grasslands of Khaptad, Rara – the biggest lake in Nepal and the deepest lake Shey-Phoksundo. The deepest cave Bhuvaneshwor Gupha and de oldest extant inscription of Damupal in the Nepali language. This is just a small sample of what western Nepal has to offer. “Namaste Nepal-Belgium” supported 2018 and 2022 two schools in Dunai (Dolpa) with education materials (microscope, telescope), sports materials, medical materials and books. This all helps to improve the knowledge and physical fitness of the students. Nearby the Balmandir School, we supported the construction of a new toilet for the kids – separate boys and girls – for better hygiene.
